The announcement published by the Ministry of Environment and Energy on December 18, 2024, concerns the “Business Storage Systems” grant program, which aims to support businesses in installing energy storage systems. Specifically, the subsidy for the acquisition of batteries varies depending on the size of the business.
In particular, the subsidy ranges as follows:
- For large businesses: 30%
- For medium-sized businesses: 40%
- For small businesses: 50%
Eligible Expenditures
The program covers equipment costs (e.g., supply and installation of energy storage systems, auxiliary materials, and Energy Management System) and service costs (e.g., system design and dimensioning fees, project management consultants, and connection costs with DEDDIE/ADMIE).
Submit an Application
To submit a Participation Application, you must provide the following:
- Basic company information
- Eligible costs to be implemented
- Necessary supporting documents
- Technical specifications submitted
- Agreement with the terms and conditions
What does the new program bring?
The program aims to support both small and large businesses.
Moreover, it provides incentives for the installation of photovoltaic systems to support energy needs with renewable energy sources.
With a total budget of 160 million euros, the program is expected to support over 3,000 businesses, strengthening their energy autonomy and contributing to the sustainable development of the economy.
Battery subsidy limits
In the case of batteries, the maximum eligible expenditure for batteries with a capacity of one hour cannot exceed €400,000/MWh.
Accordingly, for batteries with a capacity of one to two hours, the upper limit is set at €350,000/MWh.
The main criteria for evaluating applications
- The amount of the subsidy in relation to the total amount of the investment
- Reducing energy costs
- The burden of energy costs on the company’s operating expenses
